The Zephaniah Forest

On 23rd November, the first tree will be planted by Qian Zephaniah, with other members of the Benjamin Zephaniah Legacy Group, local community groups, writers and poets, volunteers and corporate sponsors throughout the week of National Tree Week 2024 and beyond, up to Benjamin’s passing anniversary on the 7th.
We will be hosting engagement events for the community, where Burbury Park Forum and local groups will be caring for the orchard trees, and talented local poets Bradley Taylor and Zakariye are running poetry sessions to encourage nature and Benjamin-inspired poetry.
We are fundraising until the end of the month and are looking for those final donations to help us, as well as searching for budding poets to contribute towards the Trees Please, Poetry Please? Competition, with 65 poems adorning the 65 trees for the 65 years of Benjamin’s wonderful life.
We hope to hear back from you very soon with interest in this incredible memorial forest and event. Please share this far and wide!

Warm regards,

Charley
