Hands-On Growing Activity
Every pupil takes part in planting sprouted marrowfat peas into trays of compost.
We provide:
- Sprouted peas
- Growing trays
- Child-safe compost
- All other materials needed
The peas quickly develop into edible pea shoot microgreens that are ready to harvest in approximately 8–10 days.
Schools can keep trays growing in the classroom so pupils can observe plant development, water the plants and monitor progress. Pupils can also take their own planted pots home to continue growing.
Learning Continues After the Workshop
